The ulamaks have failed to promote sincerity in Kelantan

Are public refusal to practice covering aurat sincerely in the name of Allah resulting in the authorities to force it down their throat? The ulamaks must have failed terribly in promoting 'doing good in the name of Allah' because their action through the latest 'aurat' campaigns suggest that this might be true; That Islam are not practiced sincerely in Kelantan. Are they practicing it out of fear of authorities? At least in this case I can assume that the women will. Lets look at how important sincerity is in Islam. From the Quran: "And they were not commanded except to worship Allah , [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion." - Holy Quran 98:5 Firstly, note that the verse above stated in the end, "And that is the correct religion." Again, what is the correct religion? Yes, according to the above verse; "those who worship Allah, being sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establich prayer and to give zakat". Now as Muslims, we MUST believe in the Quran. There's no debate in that among Muslims. Therefore Your Honor, I'd like to humbly request that since we have established beyond reasonable doubt that all Muslims must believe in the Quran and since this verse is from the Quran as can be proven from any Quran, that we classify this verse as Exhibit A. Any objections, from opposing counsel? (if you're a lawyer you'd understand this sarcasm). Anyhow, if you want to debate this, go debate with Allah. Oh sorry... you can't! My bad, my bad... Secondly, the first command is to worship Allah. Worship Allah. OK worship Allah. Wait, worship Allah. Yep, exactly! To worship Allah! Did it say to fear the authority? Nope. Get it? Thirdly, lets look at the word sincerity. In Arabic (and also Malay, ahem they copy our word... NOT!!!) the word for sincere is 'ikhlas'. In the above Quranic verse, it was used as 'mukhlisin' or being sincere. And let us take note that being sincere, is second to worshiping Allah. Such importance put ahead of inclining to truth, establishing prayers and giving zakat. Next, inclining to truth. So be truthful. If you agree, be true to yourself. Don't remain in denial. Don't find excuses and try to justify an unIslamic law. Be truthful, at least to yourselves. You might think it's the right thing to do, but is it in accordance to our guidance; The Quran and Sunnah? Let us now look at establishing prayers. What are the first things you do when you pray? Two thing simultaneously; takbir Allahu Akbar (Allah The Almighty which is the first command above; to worship Allah) and at the same time the niat (intentions; "I shall pray this so and so prayer in the name of Allah) to pray sincerely to Him. Let's go to zakat now. Oh what zakat? Poor people don't have to pay zakat what? Silly me for bringing it up for Kelantan. I bring up zakat simply to bring about the government into the equation. When I went there during the 2014 flood, I saw no governance whatsoever. Where was the zakat money when the poorest of people need it most. Where was any governance for the many many years they had been suffering? Where am I going with all these points? Prophet Muhammad was quoted to say; "Innamal a'malu binniyat" or "Actions are dependent on their intentions". Which leads back to the word sincerity in my third point above. Further into the same hadith, "Thus he whose migration was for Allah and His messenger, his migration was for Allah and His messenger, and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that for which he migrated.” Here you go; the Prophet strengthened what's in the Quran, that our good deeds are judged by Allah based on our intentions. If we do it sincerely for our love for Allah, then we will be rewarded. If we only do it out of the fear for the authorities, we don't get anything any rewards for the afterlife. If we are not doing Islamic deeds sincerely for Allah, and we are doing it for other reasons, there's a word for it in Islam; A Munafiq or hypocrite. Now let's apply that to Kelantan. Why do they have to implement a law for dress codes? What happened to their famous nick-name as Serambi Mekah? (Veranda of Mecca). If they are what they claim to be, shouldn't their people be dressing the way Allah would want them to dress willingly, and sincerely? What went wrong? What happened to the foundation of their values system? What happen to sincerity? Who are to blame for the lack of sincerity to do things in the name of Allah? We can't blame the Jews here because hey, there are no Jews in Kelantan. We can't blame Facebook too because hey, the state is so poor (Institut Rakyat reported they have the lowest median income in Malaysia, in 2012) so we can't blame Internet because hey, the state's Internet penetration is the second lowest in the country, the lowest is Perlis, a state much much smaller in size and population (SKMM 2013). So here I'd like to ask my fellow Muslims, why my brothers and sisters, Why are you allowing this to happen? Why are you OK with your religion becoming a religion full of munafiqeens? Why can't you demand the Islamic authorities to work harder and think smarter on how to bring back people to do it sincerely? Why are you tolerating the resources spent on forcing people to do it? Shouldn't these resources be used elsewhere? Do you know that: 1) Kelantan have one of the highest number of HIV positive in the country? About half are due to sexual reasons and the other half are due to drugs usage. Pornhub.com claimed Kota Bharu spent the most time on their site compared to other cities in Malaysia. Could that lead to your men going across the border for sexual workers? Could that lead to them bringing back HIV? 2) Kelantan have one of the highest number of drugs abusers too. Oh that explains the other half of the HIV positives. 3) Kelantan have one of the highest number of single mothers; most are struggling to support themselves. 4) Kelantan have one of the highest number of dengue cases in the country; oh well look at Kota Bharu and how dirty and disgusting the place is. 5) Kelantan have the highest number of unemployed youth who then face chronic poverty; which then lead them to the use of drug as a form of escapism. And yeah I saw throngs of them going into a strip club in Golok when I went there to buy rice for your flood victims of 2014. Now all of that, can't the resources wasted on catching, counseling, prosecuting, fining and shaming women for their aurat be channeled to address the above more important issues that is seriously affecting your people? No, all you're gonna do is blame the women for being the cause of why men go to Golok for whores, and then come back to infect their wives and babies. No, all you're gonna do is say, we are going to stop it from the root cause, the sexy women of Kelantan. And then some of you will say, "Amar ma'aruf nahi munkar" somewhat mean enjoin what's right and forbid what's wrong as per Quran 31:17: "O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] determination." Yes, my friends, enjoin what is right. Tell your leaders to relook at their priorities. Solve the above issues that are killing your people slowly first. Forbid what is wrong. Forbid. Forbid. Forbid. Now, does forbid ever mean to punish or to shame? See, even your language teachers also screwed up. Anyways, forbid what is wrong. This aurat law is not from the Quran or Sunnah. None of it mentioned to catch, punish and shame people like what are being done now. Forbid this new invention of men.
